Lets hear it for the boy!!

One of my MANY new years resolutions is to blog more often. I would like to get it as a book next year for Christmas. My kids are growing like weeds and I want to be able to remember these precious days. So here we go...first post.
Brady. Oh how I LOVE that boy. We have been together for 15 years. WHEW. Sounds so long. We began our journey when we were freshman in High school. Well, that is when we started dating. Let me back up to eighth grade...just for kicks. I was new at BMS and Brady was kinda the class clown. So, in short lets just say he had lots of fun picking on the new kid. Before I knew it he had most of the kids calling me "Buffy". Still to this day I have no idea where that name came from. I think it is safe to say that he is not sure either. We were friends though...i guess...somewhat friends...we had the same friends. The last day of school as we all said our goodbyes to all our friends I remember him saying "Bye, Buffy" and giving me an awkward hug. I did not see him for the entire summer. Doubt I even thought about him. I enjoyed my Summer poolside with a good friend Sarah Winsier. It was then time for school to start again. High School. I remember the first day when Brady and I saw each other we said hello and then I remember him telling me "You look good Buffy." Nice.
We went on with our freshman year and somehow "Buffy" disappeared and I became Christine again. Brady then dated a girl named Tracy-Lee. She was a junior and a cheerleader. I can remember liking nothing about that girl. I mean I really did not know her. I just remember her always putting her hand in an "L" shape on top of her forehead saying "Loser". That my friends, is enough for me not to like you. Just sayin. Anyways, they dated. While they dated Brady and I talked on the phone, as friends. One night right before Spring Break they broke up! That night we were on the phone talking about how we should get our friends together and watch a movie. I said I would call. I hung up the phone and never called anyone. I called him back and he said that I could come over to his house and we could watch a movie. I did. I don't remember the name of the movie but it had 2 tapes. We watched the 2nd one first. We then went up to his room to watch the Simpsons. Somewhere in the watching Seinfeld and the Simpsons we kissed. Our very first kiss. March 22 1996.
Fast forward to January 4 2011. We are married and have two cute kids. Brady is a fantastic husband and an even more fantastic Daddy. Last night while I cuddled in bed with Paloma watching horrible lifetime movies with really bad acting, Brady made dinner, straightened up the house and did dishes. Even bleached the sippy cups. For real! So, on that note I give it up to the guy I am lucky to have as a husband. Love you Brady P. McBride.XOXOXO

New Addition!!

WOW!!! Can you believe it?!?!? Another McBride...what?!?! That's right...but this time she won't have blonde hair and blue eyes....Nope she is a cute lil dog....YUP!!! I caved...My kids now have a dog!!!

She is super duper cute! Cogan is already in LOVE. Paloma loves to see her roaming around. Right now she is just trying to figure out her new home....good thing its not too big!

So, here is how we ended up with her...

I met her last owners in the hospital...they have a lil baby named Brody that was a patient of mine....he is WAY cute and doing great!!! I was connected to them from the minute they came to my hospital because we have a mutual friend. Anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE babies...so at night when his mama and papa left I would go swoop him up to snuggle...this keeps me from wanting another lil McBride... for now anyway! Anyways, I became friends with his mama Cindi and added her to my FB friends. The other day she posted a status that was looking for a good home for little Lexi. I saw pictures of her and just had a good feeling that she would be a good dog for our family. After talking to Brady and then Cogan we decided to make her ours. I asked Pali too but she just kept saying "dog" over and over so I knew she agreed!

So we went to get her tonight! She is great! (and I got to see lil Brody too!!) Right now she is outside with Brady. Cogan tried to get her to sleep with him but that lasted all of 2 minutes because Lexi just kept kissing him...and um its a school night...so I had to bring her down:)

I'll keep you posted on how it is going with our new lil addition!!!

It has been way too long!

Wow! It has been a while since I have posted. So, let's see...where to begin?!?!

Well Paloma is 1!!! Here are a few snap shots from here party. We decided to go low key this time and had it at Phils Ice House in Austin. It was a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone that came out and helped us celebrating this special occasion.

I gave Paloma her first hair cut! She had a really long piece of hair in the back and when she would wake up it would be a big knot of a mess. So I cut it off! She is now sporting a little bob. It is super cute.

Cogan is a big first grader!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!! He is really enjoying his summer but is definitely missing all his friends and his wonderful teacher!

This was the last day of school! We really love Mrs. Mello! She will always hold a special place in our hearts!

That's all for now I really need to get caught up on lots and lots of other parts of my life now! Hope you are enjoying your summer!

Christmas Party!

Christmas Party was a hit and the ornaments were FANTASTIC!!!

BAck to the grind.

Wow! I am way behind! I hope everybody had a GREAT Holiday! We sure did. I do not think that I can document all of it the way it should be so I am just going to post some pictures below! We started off the Holidays with a much needed trip to NM where Mimi lives! It was a LONG 7 hour drive but well worth it! The kids did great and we had a great time. Then we did our usual. Christmas Eve with my Dads side of the family and then the McBrides. Christmas day with my parents. Cogan was super excited this Christmas and Paloma could have cared less. We always LOVE the holiday season and seeing family that we don't see often! Brady REALLY enjoyed this season too. Since he is working at GHS he had off for 2 weeks!!!! He went back yesterday and Cogan went back today. So, Pali and I are home alone with LOTS and LOTS of cleaning and organizing to do! So I better get started! BTW. I do not have many pictures because I am horrible at remembering to take pictures these days so that is one of my new years resolutions!

Making orniments

I have a new kind of respect for all moms of school aged kids. I thought once Cogan was in kindergarten that my life would be simple and I would get so much accomplished during the day! WRONG! I have decide to be the more hands on kind of mom. I typically have lunch with him 2 times a month, I volunteer in the classroom once a week and I am dedicated to helping his wonderful teacher out in any way I can. Usually this means pulling out homework pages from workbooks and having them ready to go home in the Monday folders. However, along with all that, this month I was IN CHARGE of the class HOLIDAY PARTY!!! Oh what fun! I first met with Mrs. Mello and started discussing what was to be done. Oh this is no pre-k eat lots of yummy food kind of party! She suggested that we do centers. 5 Activities that the kids can go to in their small groups! PERFECT! I got the e-mails going and the supplies divided up among all the willing parents and we were on our way. My contribution to the centers is ornaments to paint! So, Cogan and I had to bake ornaments. Was not too bad. I would do it again any old time!

I love that I am able to do all these special things with and for Cogan. I love that I am a working Mom who can also have so much time to do these wonderful things. My house may not always be the cleanest and I ALWAYS have a ton of laundry but I am oh so thankful of what blessings I have that make it possible to spend the most amount of time on the things that really matter.
